Dwayne Clifton on a Network That Never Stops Giving

Dwayne Clifton, Director of Operations, Hutchens Rentz-Eden

What initially led you to join?

Our company has been involved with Study Groups since the 1980s. I was fortunate to attend several Owners’ meetings early on and was immediately struck by the openness of the group and the willingness to share.

What have you gained from being part of your group?

Over the years, I’ve gained a circle of like-positioned peers who are incredible sounding boards. The meetings are valuable, but the ongoing communication throughout the year is where the real impact happens. When you face a challenge or need advice, you can reach out—and within hours, you’ll have multiple perspectives and solutions. Most importantly, I’ve gained lifelong friendships through this group.

What would you tell someone considering joining a Study Group?

Join only if you’re willing to come in with an open mind and a genuine desire to grow. You’ll gain priceless feedback, perspective, and experiences that can change the way you lead.

Final thought?

What you get out of Study Groups is what you put in. You have to be an active participant to see results—but if you are, the return is tremendous.
