How long have you been a member of Study Groups?
I’ve been part of Study Groups for over 20 years and have had the opportunity to participate in three different groups. Along the way, I’ve also served as a facilitator for three groups, which has given me a unique perspective on what makes these communities thrive.
What initially led you to join?
Initially, I joined my first Study Group to learn from other business leaders and gain outside perspective. I wanted to surround myself with people who understood the challenges of leading a business and who were willing to share their experiences openly—both the wins and the mistakes.
What have you gained from being part of your group?
The relationships have been key. A successful group is built on trust, vulnerability, and transparency—being able to share openly and know others will listen and help without judgment.
Beyond the relationships, the insights have been invaluable. Seeing what other successful companies are doing to remain industry leaders and differentiate themselves in their markets helps me think more strategically about our own business. The competitive spirit in the group pushes everyone to raise the bar—not just for their companies, but for each other.
Can you share a specific story or moment where your group made a real impact?
There have been countless moments of collaboration and problem-solving, but what stands out most is the ongoing willingness of members to help one another. Whether it’s benchmarking data, sharing best practices, or providing candid feedback, the group has been a constant source of guidance. We’ve supported each other through growth, tough decisions, and industry changes—and the friendships built along the way have been just as meaningful as the business impact.
What would you tell someone who’s considering joining a Study Group?
Do it—if you’re willing to be open and accountable. The knowledge and experience around the table will challenge you to be better. But if you’re just looking for validation and not accountability, this isn’t the place.
Study Groups will support you 100%, but it takes transparency and participation. If you’re willing to engage fully, it’s one of the best investments you can make in yourself and your business.
Is there a short quote or testimonial you’d share publicly?
“Joining a Study Group can be the best investment you make—if you let it. The group becomes a lifelong source of friendship, advice, and guidance. There’s no other place where you can share openly, learn from peers, and walk away inspired to be better.”
