What led you to join a Study Group?
I was recommended to the group and met Ben Scellick at a convention. His presentation caught my attention and made me realize how valuable it would be to connect with peers facing similar challenges. I needed people I could share both struggles and victories with.
What impact has being part of the group had on you and your business?
I’ve built relationships that have given me confidence in my ability to lead and make meaningful changes within our company. The insights and data shared turned loose ideas into clear, actionable goals that fueled our growth and modernization.
Was there a moment that stood out early on?
In my first meeting, someone asked the group what we called our dad in the office. That simple question opened up one of the most personal and honest conversations I’ve ever had about family dynamics in business. At the time, I was struggling with my relationship with my boss—who also happens to be my dad—and I didn’t have anyone in my world who truly understood what that felt like.
As the discussion unfolded, I realized that many others were facing similar challenges—balancing respect, communication, and leadership within a family company. Hearing their stories, their struggles, and even their humor around it was incredibly refreshing. It reminded me that I wasn’t alone and gave me a healthier perspective on how to move forward. That one conversation lifted a huge burden off my shoulders and became a defining moment in my time with the group.
What makes your group special?
It’s not just a meeting you attend twice a year. It’s a network of people you can call anytime for honest, unfiltered advice. Your problems aren’t just your own—someone else in the group has likely faced them too.
