My first Study Groups experience perfectly captured what this community is all about.
I flew to Savannah for my very first Study Groups meeting—excited, but not quite sure what to expect. I landed late at night to find no Ubers, no Lyfts, and an hour-long taxi wait. I kept refreshing the app, wondering how I was going to get to the hotel. Desperate, I even asked a passing Uber driver if he could come back for me after his ride. He said no.
A couple nearby overheard me and offered to share their Uber. As luck would have it, we were headed to the same hotel. On the ride, we started talking, and when I mentioned I was from Bellingham, he laughed and said the company he was there with was based in Bellingham too. A few more minutes of conversation and we realized—we were in the same Study Group.
The next morning, I shared the story with the group, and everyone loved hearing how my “airport rescue” came from a fellow member. For me, it was the perfect first impression of Study Groups—it’s not just about the meetings. It’s about the people.
